Hand-feel comparison swatches
Material & Hardware Lab

No spec required.

You don't need the spec yet. Send a reference, a swatch, or just the feel you're after. We start with three cuttings from one hide — soft, firm, dry — each tagged with weight and recovery. That card is what the next colour, and the Dhaka run, are built from.

Italian-trained craft · SMETA-audited · 2 owned factories · material & hardware co-developed in-house
Five steps

Every step ends in something you can hold.

01

Hand-feel first

Three cuttings, one variable. You get: swatches + spec card.

02

Leather sets the build

One pattern, two hides, side by side. You get: paired samples with edge detail.

03

Fittings are engineered, not picked

Weight in hand → sound on click → 50 cycles on the bag → die number logged.

04

One colour, three finishes

Same substrate, three surfaces. You get: finish ladder + plating board.

05

Sealed, not screenshot

BOM, colour lot, die number and tolerance on one card. Reorder from either plant.

Materials & hardware

Do you run an in-house material and hardware lab?

Yes. Our Huizhou site runs a material and hardware development room: hand-feel swatches, leather-to-structure pairing, custom hardware (sculpt → plating → fitted sample) and the sealed sample card are all handled in-house — hardware development is never subcontracted.

Three characters

Structured, soft, utility.

Most programmes sit between two. That's the point of the lab.

Start

Send the six lines.

Rough is fine. We'll reply within 24h with a material direction, the hardware call, and a sampling route.

  1. Hand-feel — soft, firm or dry? A reference bag counts.
  2. Silhouette — which shape is closest?
  3. Hardware — catalogue piece, or worth developing?
  4. Colour — a Pantone, a fabric, or a mood?
  5. Market & price band
  6. Timing — which season?

Ten images max. A sketch, a swatch, or a feeling you can't quite name — send it over.

Do I need a full tech pack before asking for a quote?

Can you develop custom hardware from a sketch?
Yes — sculpt model, plating board, fitted sample, then the die number is logged to the sealed card.
What is a colour lot, and why does it matter?
Skins from one dye lot match. Cross-lot cutting needs a confirmation sample first.
What if I only have a feeling, no references?
That is where the lab starts: three cuttings, one variable, tagged and scored.

A sketch, a swatch, or a feeling you can't quite name.

Send it over — we'll come back with the plan.
